The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has ranked sixth in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, ranking second in Hong Kong. This achievement echoes the HKSAR Government’s vision to strengthen Hong Kong as an international hub for higher education.
Our success reflects HKUST’s commitment to driving innovative interdisciplinary education, fostering a global outlook, and creating a dynamic platform for research and education. We excelled in internationalization and reputation, affirming our role in building a diverse, inclusive and globally connected academic community as well as supporting Hong Kong’s development as an international education hub. Adding to this honor, HKUST received the prestigious “Research and Discovery Champions” award at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025 in Seoul, recognizing our outstanding performance in research quality and academic impact.
Graduate Employability: 25th Globally and 1st in Hong Kong
HKUST also ranked 25th globally and 1st in Hong Kong in the Times Higher Education Global Employability University Ranking 2026. This reflects our dedication to enhancing students’ competitiveness through extensive partnerships with leading universities and corporations, providing diverse opportunities for exchange and internships.
