Happy New Year! As the new year unfolds, we would like to take this opportunity to share “HKUST 2023 Highlights” video, which encapsulated the exciting moments and important achievements of the University.
2023 has been a stellar year with a lot of breakthroughs. To name a few: the successful launch of the high-resolution optical satellite "HKUST-FYBB#1", being the first university to adopt ChatGPT in teaching and learning, and the hosting of two international AI conferences. The University was also honored to serve as the Executive Presidency of the 15-member Asian Universities Alliance in 2023-24 and chair the 17-member Association of East Asian Research Universities for two years, beginning in January 2024.
Our Kellogg-HKUST EMBA continues its reign as the world's top program for the 12th time, while our graduates remain top in Hong Kong in the Times Higher Education Global University Employability Ranking 2023-24.
To empower knowledge transfer and foster entrepreneurship, our first Unicorn Day has brought back almost 100 home-grown innovators who exchanged insights and explored partnership opportunities with industry players, potential investors, academics, and government officials.
Last but not least, we have also had the honor of conferring Honorary Doctorates upon six prominent academics and community leaders including a Nobel Laureate and recipients of Turing Award, Breakthrough Prize and Oscar Award.
