The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has secured substantial funding for 13 innovative projects under the 2025/26 Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) and Research Impact Fund (RIF), administered by the University Grants Committee’s Research Grants Council. Awarded over HKD77 million—the highest amount and number of projects among all UGC-funded universities—this success reflects HKUST’s continued leadership in impactful research. The funded initiatives cover key fields such as next-generation AI, quantum materials, microelectronics, sustainable energy, and resilient urban infrastructure. These projects aim to address pressing global issues including climate change, precision medicine, and support Hong Kong’s development into a smart and sustainable city.
