Evolved from a professional boxer to a visionary entrepreneur, alumnus Yongjun Cai ( EMBA ) led China’s skateboarding and snowboard cross teams to Olympic success. He attributes his enhanced strategic and cross-industry insights to the EMBA program which propelled his business and sports endeavors. Now pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration at the University, Yongjun seeks to harness AI and big data for sustainable development in sports. Upholding the family’s education legacy, his son joins the University as a business undergraduate this year. His son, a first-year business undergraduate at HKUST, carries forward the family’s educational legacy. Yongjun hopes his son will expand his horizons and cultivate a global perspective in HKUST’s dynamic, opportunity-rich academic environment.

Have you ever explored the fascinating symbolism of the HKUST logo? Lyrically, it depicts the golden head of wisdom above an open book of knowledge. Between the arms holding the book is a flask that symbolizes science. Alternatively, it can represent a transmission tower, highlighting engineering, technology, or communication and management. A sun radiating gold shines over the deep blue ocean, symbolizing Hong Kong. Supporting these emblems are three Greek letters, upsilon, psi, and tau, which transliterate to HKUST.
